The nature of this sign is watery; it is a water sign original: "jala-rashi". It is moist, smooth, and characterized by a strong tendency toward procreation and a deep attachment to women. The word "also" implies a combination of these traits. Its caste is Brahmin the priestly or scholarly class.

Now, having described the nature of the signs, the author explains the divisions of friendship and enmity among them:
The friendship between the Earth signs and Water signs is natural. Similarly, the friendship between the Fire signs and Air signs should be understood. In contrast to this, there is a state of enmity original: "ari-bhava". This means that when considering the compatibility between a father and son, a woman and man, or a master and servant, friendship should be predicted if their signs belong to the Earth and Water groups.
The same applies to the Fire and Air groups. Otherwise, one must declare enmity. For example, Earth and Fire, or Earth and Air, are inimical groups. If both individuals belong to the same elemental group (e.g., both are Earth), then there is a state of great mutual affection.
Furthermore, while discussing the nature of the signs, the author applies the "Lion’s Glance" rule term: "Simhavalokana-nyaya" — a Sanskrit metaphorical principle where one looks back at what was previously stated while moving forward, like a lion pausing to look behind to clarify specific forms for Sagittarius and Capricorn. In the latter half of Sagittarius, it is considered four-footed quadrupedal. In the first half of Capricorn, it is considered aquatic water-dwelling. || 14 ||
To explain the results of these sign characteristics, the author briefly describes their physical temperaments term: "Doshas" — the three bodily humors in Ayurvedic medicine:
