From Pisces original: "mina" onwards—starting from Aries and ending with Pisces—by dividing them into groups of four, a triple rotation is formed. These zodiac signs Rashis: the twelve signs of the zodiac should be known and understood by the learned scholars. Now, the triple rotation of the four castes—the Warrior, Merchant, Laborer, and Priest—among the twelve signs should be understood. It is as follows:
| Sign | Caste |
|---|---|
| Aries | Warrior Kshatriya |
| Taurus | Merchant Vaishya |
| Gemini | Laborer Shudra |
| Cancer | Priest Brahmin |
| Leo | Warrior |
| Virgo | Merchant |
| Libra | Laborer |
| Scorpio | Priest |
| Sagittarius | Warrior |
| Capricorn | Merchant |
| Aquarius | Laborer |
| Pisces | Priest |
The results for all these should be interpreted according to the nature and characteristics of the signs. || 15 ||
Now the mathematics will be discussed. First, the movement of the planets will be explained. For this movement, the commencement of the year Varsha-pravritti is required. That has not been stated here by the author of this book.
Why is this mentioned? Because it is required for the Year-Fruit Varshaphala, and since it is useful here, we are demonstrating it. Furthermore, the determination of the planetary periods Dashas, sub-periods, month-entrances, and day-entrances are also mentioned in the Year-Fruit system; however, since they are explained in that specific context, they are not fully detailed here. We will demonstrate them wherever they are applicable.
The Calculation: "Elapsed years" Gata-samah refers to the years passed. For example, the Era Shaka: the historical calendar era used in India at birth should be subtracted from the current Era. The remainder is the elapsed years. These should be "increased by their fourth part" divided by 4 and added back. "Nature" Prakriti refers to the number twenty-one; the years should be multiplied by this. To this "Year-count," add forty ghatis. Then, add the weekday and the desired time ghatis and palas of the original birth. Finally, divide the resulting figure by seven. The remainder indicates the weekday, ghatis, and palas of the Year-Entrance the solar return for the current year in this text. || 16 ||
