When there is a discrepancy between different astronomical schools original: "pakṣa", the calculation of the Sun at the time of birth and the Sun as recorded in the almanac term: "Panchang" - a traditional Hindu calendar and almanac is performed, and a difference arises between them. Now, if one objects: "The Sun at birth was calculated according to the Solar School term: "Saura-paksha" - the astronomical tradition based on the Surya Siddhanta, and the Sun in the almanac also follows the Solar School, so why is there still a difference?" The reason is stated: When a major calculation is made for someone's birth, the corrections for the local latitude term: "Chara" - ascensional difference and longitude term: "Deshantara" - terrestrial longitude of their specific birth village are applied. However, the person who created the almanac applied the corrections for a different location, such as the Marwar region original: "Marudesha". Because the corrections for latitude and longitude differ from village to village, a discrepancy arises. If the corrections for the same location were applied to both, this difference would not occur. From whichever text the Sun is calculated, starting from the birth time, through various corrections...
Now, the true positions of the planets term: "Spashta-graha" - the mathematically corrected 'true' longitude of a planet as seen from Earth are to be calculated at the moment of the Solar Return term: "Varshapravesha" - the entry of the Sun into the same zodiacal point as birth, marking the start of a new year. For the sake of ease, the author describes the "motion adjustment" term: "Chalana" for the planets found in the almanac:
Multiply the daily motion of the planet by the days elapsed or remaining. Divide the result by sixty (60). The resulting quotient in minutes and seconds should be subtracted or added; thus, the planet becomes "true" (accurate). || 18 ||

Corrected: The Sun calculated from that text at the moment of the Solar Return becomes identical down to the second original: "vikalā"; this is certain. Knowing that equality between the two is achieved in this way, the "Crest-Jewel of Astrologers" a title for a master scholar has shown this very example.
The venerable teacher Keshavadaivajña a famous 15th-century astronomer has mentioned another correction at the time of the Solar Return; what was said by Ganesha Daivajña Keshava's son and author of the Graha Laghava is [considered by some here to be] incorrect.
