What is the daily motion original: "kāgati"? Multiply it by the movement factors the time elapsed since the epoch and divide by sixty. The resulting degrees, minutes, and seconds should be subtracted from the planet's position as listed in the almanac original: "pañcāṅga" if the difference is large; if the difference is small, it should be added. This results in the "True Planet" Spashta-graha: the actual observed position of a celestial body after applying corrections to its mean position for that specific moment. For planets in retrograde motion moving backward from our perspective on Earth and for Rahu and Ketu the lunar nodes, the calculation should be understood as the opposite of the standard direction.

Example:
The time of the solar return original: "Varshapravesha" is 2 days, 12 hours, and 18 minutes. Subtracting the epoch time of 6 days, 23 hours, and 56 minutes gives the "motion digits" of 2, 58, and 22. Using these, all planets are calculated for the exact moment of the solar return.
