This page is almost entirely blank and serves as a flyleaf (a protective blank sheet at the beginning or end of a manuscript). The paper shows significant signs of environmental stress and physical aging. Notable is the presence of foxing—a term for the rust-colored spots caused by the chemical reaction of minerals in the paper or the growth of mold over centuries. There are also faint, dark marks near the center that are no longer legible; these are likely pen trials, where the scribe or a later owner tested the flow of ink and the sharpness of their reed pen before writing on the main pages.
