The seventh house from the Ascendant, as well as the trines the 5th and 9th houses, and the fourth and eighth from there are designated as the "Four-Square" original: Caturasra. Each of the houses—the setting 7th, the tenth meridian, and the Ascendant—is called a Center Sanskrit: Kendra, also known by the name Thorny Point Sanskrit: Kaṇṭaka. 8
The houses following the Centers are called Succedent Sanskrit: Paṇaphara; derived from Greek epanafora, and those following those are the Cadent Sanskrit: Āpoklima; derived from Greek apoklima. The signs starting with Aries and the Bull Taurus, up to the Goat Capricorn, represent the rising and setting times of the nights. These are identified by their rising positions and their strength during the day or night, and they are classified in order as those that rise by the head, the back, or both. 17
From the two bodies Gemini and Pisces, the directions of the signs are identified as the flowers East and the others in sequence. They are also classified as horizontal, face-down, or face-up. Wise men know these as the directions beginning with the North. The portions degrees are known in groups of eight, five, and seven, according to the elements of the worlds, the Vasus 8, the flavors 6, the fires 3, and the nine divisions Navamsha. 18
