The yogas astrological combinations of the sun and moon known as Vyaghata, Vajra, Ganda, and Atiganda are considered particularly harsh. In the Mula nakshatra, five ghatikas A unit of time equal to 24 minutes; five ghatikas equals two hours. are always to be abandoned. Between the constellations of Ashlesha and Magha, the junction points known as "knots" gandanta are fearful and must be avoided, as should the transition between Cancer Kulira and Leo. || 4 ||
Regarding the first yoga, Vishkambha, its first three ghatikas are avoided varjya. Likewise, for Vyaghata and Vajra, the first nine ghatikas are avoided. For Ganda and Atiganda, the first six ghatikas of each must be abandoned. In the constellation of Mula, the first five ghatikas are avoided. Between Ashlesha and Magha, which are ruled by the Serpents original: "sarpa" and the Ancestors original: "pitru" respectively, the three ghatikas at the junction sandhi must be avoided by those seeking success. By combining the lunar day tithi with the constellation and other factors, then performing the calculation—multiplying by seven and dividing by twenty—the remaining count determines the specific results. In the yogas of Vishkambha and others, the wise avoid the "mouths" or beginnings of these periods for all auspicious works, even if they are otherwise favorable to the lords of the gods. || 5 ||
From the Sun's constellation and the day's constellation, in sequence, the 15th, 8th, 10th, 19th, 18th, 21st, 22nd, 25th, 7th, 23rd, and 24th are the yogas known as "Shadasha-vakra" and others which must be avoided. Furthermore, the combination of three lunar days in a single solar day a rare and inauspicious occurrence is to be abandoned.
In the daytime, the deities Brahma, the Rakshasas demonic spirits, the Serpents, and Fire rule the hours. On Tuesday and Wednesday, one must observe the influence of the Spirits.
When these influences are seen, they cause destruction and harm. Even on Saturdays, these periods are avoided. || 6 || When three lunar days tithi occur within a single solar day, that day must be abandoned for rituals. Furthermore:

The lords of the constellations are as follows: the Ashwins, Yama, Fire, Brahma, the Moon, Shiva original: "Rudra", the Sun, Angiras, the Serpents, the Ancestors, the Sun, the Sky, the Creator, the King of Gods, Fire, the Friend, the Lord of Men, the Rakshasa, the All-Gods, Vishnu, the Support of the World, the Lord of the Waters, the Serpent of the Deep, and Pushan. || 7 ||
The deities of the twenty-seven constellations nakshatras, starting from Ashwini, should be known in order:
1. For Ashwini, the two Ashwins divine physicians.
2. For Bharani, Yama lord of death.
3. For Krittika, Agni fire.
4. For Rohini, Brahma the creator.
5. For Mrigashirsha, Soma the moon.
6. For Ardra, Rudra a fierce form of Shiva.
