Aditi is the deity of Punarvasu. Guru the preceptor of the gods, Brihaspati is for Pushya. The Serpents original: "sarpa" are for Ashlesha. The Ancestors original: "pitara" for Magha. Bhaga for Purva Phalguni. Aryaman for Uttara-
-Phalguni. The Sun original: "ravi" for Hasta. Tvashtar the celestial architect for Chitra. The Wind original: "anila" for Svati. Indra and Agni for Vishakha.
Anuradha’s deity is Mitra. Shakra another name for Indra, king of the gods for Jyeshtha. Nirriti for Mula. The Waters original: "apu" for Purva Ashadha. The
Universal Gods original: "vishvedeva" for Uttara Ashadha. Vishnu for Shravana. The Vasus a group of elemental gods for Dhanishta. Varuna for Shatataraka also known as Shatabhisha.
Aja-Ekapada for Purva Bhadrapada. Ahirbudhnya for Uttara Bhadrapada. Pushan for Revati ॥ The constellations known as Fixed dhruva are the three Uttaras Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha, and Uttara Bhadrapada along with Rohini.
Activities performed under these are meant for stability. The three Purvas Purva Phalguni, Purva Ashadha, and Purva Bhadrapada,
Magha, and Bharani are remembered as Fierce krura or Terrible ugra in nature. Vishakha and Krittika are known as Mixed mishra or Ordinary sadharana.
Now Swati, Punarvasu, Shravana, Dhanishta, and Shatabhisha are known as the five Movable chara or Mobile chala constellations; these are associated with Monday. The five "Fierce" or "Terrible" constellations mentioned before the three Purvas, Magha, and Bharani are associated with Tuesday ॥ The two "Mixed" constellations Vishakha and Krittika are associated with Wednesday.
Abhijit the intercalary 28th mansion, along with Ashwini, Pushya, and Hasta, are known as Swift kshipra or Light laghu. Chitra, Anuradha, Revati, and Mrigashira are the Soft mridu or Gentle maitra constellations.
Jyeshtha, Mula, Ardra, and Ashlesha are Sharp teekshna or Dreadful daruna. One should perform deeds appropriate to these natures on their respective days to ensure success. ॥ ॥ This concludes the section on the constellations nakshatra-prakarana ॥ ॥
Regarding the signs of a woman's fertility: For the sake of obtaining a son, a man should approach his wife during the proper season. From the start of the menstrual flow, the first sixteen days are considered the
Beyond fertile period ritu-kala. During this time, the man should approach his wife to father a child, avoiding times when he is weak? or lacking vitality. However, certain days must be avoided:
the first three days of the flow, the 11th and 13th days, the full moon, the new moon, the 14th day of the lunar cycle, and the junctions sandhi between day and night dawn and dusk. One should also avoid the "knots" parvan or holy transition days ॥ 10 ॥
One should avoid the Mula constellation, the first birth-star, and Revati for these purposes. A child conceived during the
proper lunar phase and under auspicious constellations will be successful and healthy.
