...combined with that [the Ascendant]. 6 || The degrees of the Ascendant Lagna; the zodiac sign rising on the eastern horizon should be considered as they have risen or are currently rising. It is said that those portions already passed should be understood as "enjoyed," and similarly this should be applied to the portions related to wealth and other houses.
Furthermore, if Venus original: "Shukra" is placed in the Ascendant, but not in a sign of Saturn original: "Manda" or in its debilitation, it destroys thousands of flaws. Mercury original: "Budha", when situated in such a position, destroys a hundred flaws. Jupiter original: "Guru", if well-placed in that house, destroys all flaws that would otherwise cause the destruction of the Ascendant. Therefore, these three—Venus, Mercury, and the Preceptor of the Gods (Jupiter)—are said to be most auspicious for destroying hundreds, thousands, and even millions of flaws.
Regarding the Planetary Hour (Hora):
The Lord of the Hora Planetary hour; a division of time approximately one hour long is determined by the degrees. Multiply the five senses (5) by... illegible calculation?. This calculation of the hours is declared by the wise for the day and the midnight. The sequence is: Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars. ॥ 57 ॥
The method for determining the Lord of the Hour is now stated. The Sun resides in the western sign. Excluding the degrees already set, from the remaining portions of the second sign onwards, half-sign portions should be given. By those divisions, the Hora is to be understood. Another method for knowing the Hora is: take the number of Ghatikas Ghatika; a unit of time equal to 24 minutes passed in the day, double them, and divide by five; the resulting quotient is the Hora.
The sequence of the Lords of the Horas is as follows: The first Hora belongs to the Lord of the Day. Then, it follows every third planet in descending order. For example, on Sunday, the first is the Sun's hour, then Venus, then Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars. This sequence should be known.
The Half-Watch Yamarddha; a period of 1.5 hours, half of a three-hour watch of the Sun is fourth on his day; on the Moon's day (Monday), it is seventh; on the Son of Earth's day (Tuesday), it is second; on Mercury's day, it is fifth; on Jupiter's day, it is sixth; on Venus's day, it is third; and on the day of the Sun's son (Saturn), it is the first. These are the best for activities related to the lineage. ॥ 58 ॥
Starting from Sunday, the half-watches are to be known in order:
In all these, the Kulik Kulik; an inauspicious time period ruled by a "son" of a planet should be avoided for auspicious works. From the rising of the Sun, the Lords of the Day and their portions are known. These hours are generally auspicious except for the "Cruel Hours" original: "Krura Hora". One should avoid the time of the "Cruel Messenger" on other days.
14 4 Sun 12 Direction 10 Setting 9 Ga 6 Vi 4 Yama 2 — these are known as the cruel portions in the Horas. ॥ 59 ॥
The lords of the half-watches are to be known starting from sunrise. Whichever day it is, its corresponding watch becomes the... text break?. Thus, the Kulik portions are also known. Specifically, the second half of a half-watch is the Kulik. This is also called the "Saturn's enjoyment." Others say the 4th and 2nd are similar. These should be avoided during the day. For the night, they are to be known as one less.
The Fifteen Muhurtas of the Day:
The deities of the Muhurtas Muhurta; a time division of 48 minutes are: Shiva, the Serpent (Sarpa), Mitra, the Ancestors (Pitars), the Vasus, Water (Ambu), the Lord of All (Vishvedevas), the Creator (Vidhi/Brahma), Indra, Indragni, the Demon (Rakshasa/Nirriti), Varuna, Aryaman, and Bhaga. These are the twenty... original: "vimsah"... text obscure?... the seven auspicious ones... then Hari (Vishnu), the Sun, the Vasus, and the Wind (Vayu) in order. ॥ 60 ॥
There are fifteen Muhurtas in a day, and similarly fifteen in a night. Among the Muhurtas of the day:
1. The first is Shiva.
2. The second is the Serpent.
3. The third is Mitra.
4. The fourth is the Ancestors.
5. The fifth is the Vasus.
6. The sixth is Water.
7. The seventh is the All-gods.
8. The eighth is Vidha (Brahma).
9. The ninth is Brahma (The Creator).

11. The eleventh is Indragni.
12. The twelfth is the Demon.
13. The thirteenth is Varuna.

The lords of the night Muhurtas follow in the reverse order.
