...these are known as the sacrificial gifts Dakshina; the honorarium or gift given to priests that completes a ritual. ॥ ७३ ॥
The patron original: yajamana should provide gifts equal in value to gold; if gold is not available, the patron should give what the Teacher original: Guru deems appropriate according to his wisdom. ॥ ७४ ॥
Having adorned the gifts with fragrances and flowers, and provided them along with necessary ritual utensils, they should be handed over everywhere while reciting the mantra of auspiciousness. ॥ ७५ ॥
The following verses are "Shanti" prayers, where the person performing the ritual asks for peace from the objects being donated, viewing them as sacred beings.
O Kapila a sacred reddish-brown cow, you are the head of all the gods and are to be worshiped by them. Since you embody all the deities, grant me peace. ॥ ७६ ॥
You are the merit of the gods, the most auspicious of all auspicious things. You are eternally sustained and unbroken; therefore, grant me peace. ॥ ७७ ॥
You are Dharma the principle of cosmic order in the form of a bull, the cause of joy for the entire world. Salutations to the Lord of the eight forms; therefore, grant me peace. ॥ ७८ ॥
You are the womb of the Golden Womb Hiranyagarbha; the source of the universe, you are the golden seed of the Sun. Giver of infinite meritorious fruits, therefore grant me peace.
Since you were born from the nectar of immortality in the form of a reddish-brown horse, like the sun and the moon eternally; therefore, grant me peace. ॥ ७९ ॥
Because the pair of yellow garments is worn by Vasudeva a name for Krishna/Vishnu, and it is the primary clothing of Vishnu...
...therefore, grant me peace. ॥ ८० ॥
Since you are the entire Earth appearing in the form of a cow, eternally destroying all sins; therefore, grant me peace. ॥ ८१ ॥
Since ironwork and all actions involving metal are always under your power—as well as weapons and tools of the wild—therefore, grant me peace. ॥ ८२ ॥
Since you are established as the auspiciousness of cows and of sacrifices, the eternal source of the ritual fire; therefore, grant me peace. ॥ ८३ ॥
Without knowing the priest's role, the ritual application, the poetic meter, the visionary seer, and the deity—these five aspects of the mantras—one does not enjoy the fruits of the rite. ॥ ८४ ॥
Together? with my wife, sons, and others, while I am seated, let the ritual sprinkling Abhishechana be performed with the water from the jar containing the five gems. ॥ ८५ ॥
If one desires the purification equivalent to bathing in all the sacred rivers, one should catch the water released from the hand of a Brahmin upon one’s own head. ॥ ८६ ॥
