If Venus is in the seventh house and the Moon original: "mriganka," meaning "deer-marked," a poetic name for the moon is in the tenth, and malefic planets have entered the Patala: the fourth house, also called the underworld or lowest point, they do not produce results. If these alignments occur at the time of birth, they lead to a human who is childless. || 18 ||

If the Moon is in the house of progeny and is aspected by Venus, many children are born without suffering. If the lord of the house of children is associated with a female servant, the number of children will be equal to the strength of the Moon. || 19 ||

If Venus is joined with durgena?, or if the lords of the house of progeny are associated with Venus and the Moon, no daughters are born. However, if these planets are in odd-numbered signs, sons are born in that Vishamalin: an odd-numbered or uneven zodiac sign. || 20 ||

If the sign of Saturn original: "manda," the slow-moving one is situated in the house of children, joined with Saturn and aspected by the Moon, an adopted son original: "datta-atmaja" is indicated. According to the words of the sages, a son may also be "purchased" original: "kritah suta," an ancient legal category of a son acquired through payment under these Saturnian influences. || 21 ||

If the Moon is in the house of children within a division of Saturn, and is aspected by the Sun, the man’s child will be a "re-born" son original: "punarbhava-samjava," referring to a son born of a woman who has remarried or entered a second union. || 22 ||

If Saturn is in the seventh or the house of children and is aspected by the Sun and Mars original: "ravibhunijabhyam", the person will have no sons. If the Moon is also weak and aspected by the Sun, the family lineage may be broken. || 23 ||

If the Navamsha: the ninth divisional chart, used for refined analysis is in the fifth house and is aspected by malefic planets, the children will perish. Various diseases of the face and ears may also afflict the household. || 24 ||

When a malefic planet enters the house of joy referring to the house of children, it destroys the child as soon as it is born, or perhaps even before birth. If the offspring is born under the influence of the "bright-arrowed" Venus, the first pregnancy may not be successful. || 25 ||

In a man’s birth chart, malefic planets in the house of children indicate poor intelligence and trouble for younger siblings; they also grant the results of seventy perhaps referring to seventy types of struggles children. Though they may seem to promise progeny, they actually cause destruction and lead to poor judgment. || 26 ||

When gods benefic planets are mixed with malefics in the house of children, or are aspected by planets in enemy houses, they cause the loss of children, or result in the birth of a child that does not bring joy. || 27 ||

These planets cause diseases and disorders of the heart. Malefic planets in the house of progeny are the cause of sorrow regarding children. They strip away intelligence, discernment, and wealth; they determine whether the offspring will be male or female. || 28 ||

If the Sun, Saturn, and the cruel Rahu the north node of the moon, often associated with eclipses are joined, or if the lord of the house of children is set combust, or hidden by the sun's glare and aspected by malefics, it causes the destruction of children and causes the father great pain, such as a constant throbbing in the head. || 29 ||

If a cold-rayed planet the Moon is present at the first birth, it may kill the child quickly like a monkey meaning suddenly or erratically. Mars original: "dharunija," son of the earth often causes the death of many children if it is in certain divisions. || 30 ||

If the Moon is in the ascendant and Saturn's son Saturn is in the twelfth house, and Rahu original: "tamas," darkness is in the house of children, the lineage will clearly meet its end through the influence of the Sun. || 31 ||

If a birth occurs then, the child may bring harm to the wife. If the lords of the houses are in the Tri-shaya: the 3rd, 6th, and 11th houses, there is further distress. || 32 ||

If the Sun, Mars, and the worshipped Rahu and Saturn are in the ascendant or the house of progeny, the child will meet its end soon after rising birth. There is no doubt that victory over this fate is difficult. || 33 ||

If the Sun and Mars are together, the child’s body may suffer from eye diseases. Furthermore, it creates a "fire-like" temperament and may cause chronic diarrhea or loss of wealth. || 34 ||

When the Sun and Mars are in the house of children, they give specific results. If they are in the ninth house, they grant a single child to the world. || 35 ||

When the beloved of the demons Venus and the teacher of the gods Jupiter are in their own houses at dawn, and the lord of the house of children is also well-placed, there may be five daughters and eight sons. || 36 ||

If the house of children is in the sign of a weak planet and associated with malefic divisions, the children born will not remain; they may be lost or sold. || 37 ||

If Taurus or Sagittarius is in the fifth house, one does not find happiness with relatives. If a malefic is in the fifth house, the children may be stillborn original: "mritta-praja", though the aspect of Jupiter original: "guru" can grant some happiness. || 38 ||

If the Moon and Mercury original: "chandaputra," son of the moon are in the house of stillbirths, or if the Sun is in a benefic sign in the dual divisions, then one should predict the birth of a daughter. || 39 ||

If Jupiter or Venus is in the fifth house, the mother will give birth to a daughter, or perhaps she will attain a daughter after many years. || 40 ||
