It has the face of a man with gleaming blue-gray eyes original: "glaucis oculis" and is of a blood-red color. It possesses the body of a lion and a tail tipped with a sting like that of a scorpion. Its voice is like a hiss, so much so that it imitates the melodic notes of pipes fistularum; specifically panpipes or flutes. It hungers most greedily for human flesh.
