Now, the author speaks regarding the results of the Fourth House Chaturtha-bhāva: The house representing the home, mother, land, and general happiness and the four planetary combinations original: yoga-catuṣṭayam associated with it. If the Lord of the Fourth House Pātāleśa: Literally 'Lord of the Underworld,' referring to the lowest point of the chart, the 4th house is placed in its own zodiac sign, joined by a benefic planet, and is further joined by the Lord of the Ninth House Bhāgyapa: The Lord of Fortune or Luck, then the person born will be a Vassal King original: Sāmanta or a Regional Ruler original: Māṇḍalika.

Following that combination: if the Lord of Vehicles the ruler of the 4th house is placed in the Ascendant the 1st house, representing the self and is fully aspected by Jupiter Guru, then the person born will be honored by royalty original: rājapūjyaḥ, becoming a recipient of honors bestowed by the king.

Furthermore, if the Lord of the Fourth House original: Sukheśa, the Lord of Happiness is aspected by Jupiter and is located in the House of Gains the 11th house, or if the Lord of the Fourth House is aspected by Jupiter and looks upon the house of vehicles, then he provides a multitude of desired vehicles to men. These two combinations should be understood as distinct possibilities. Due to the influence of other combinations, the fourth house results are further explored.

Commentary

If the Lord of the Fourth is in its own sign, joined by a benefic and the Lord of Fortune, one becomes a Vassal King; if the Lord of Vehicles is in the Ascendant and aspected by Jupiter,

one is honored by royalty. If the Lord of the Fourth is in the House of Gains and looks upon the house of vehicles, he provides a multitude of desired vehicles to men. || 8 ||

If the Lord of the Fourth is in its own sign with the Lord of the Ascendant, there is a sudden acquisition of a house. If with friends, the house is filled with loved ones; if the Lord is in another house, the yoga for acquiring a house is different.

As many malefic planets as are joined with the Lords of the 2nd, 10th, 4th, and 12th houses and placed in difficult positions, for that many reasons the house will be subject to fire and cause distress to the person. || 9 ||

This is due to the lack of auspicious aspects in certain combinations. || 8 || Now, regarding the combinations for acquiring a house: if the Lord of the Fourth House is with the Lord of the Ascendant Lagneśa: The ruler of the 1st house and is placed in its own sign the 4th house itself, then the person born will experience a sudden acquisition of a house original: akasmāt gṛhāptiḥ without effort. Furthermore, if joined by friends benefic planets or natural friends of the 4th lord, the house will be filled with affectionate people and friends.

If the Lord of the Fourth is separated from the Lord of the Ascendant and is placed in a house other than the fourth, then the "attainment of house" combination is modified. As many malefic planets Krūra-graha: Cruel or harsh planets like Mars or Saturn as are joined with the Lords of the 2nd, 10th, 4th, and 12th houses and situated in Difficult Houses Trika: The 6th, 8th, or 12th houses, that is the measure by which the houses of the person will be subject to fire original: jvalana and cause distress.
