...at sunrise. || 23 || When it arrives at the time of sunrise, and the Sun’s position remains for three Muhurtas original: muhūrtatraya; a Muhurta is a traditional unit of time lasting 48 minutes. For a lunar day to be valid for rituals, it must usually span at least three Muhurtas after sunrise like a flowing river. For the sake of religious duty, the ancient experts of time in the Puranas traditional Hindu texts containing mythology and law say that the day should be considered full. || 24 ||
One should not perform [the ritual] on just any day; rather, one should ensure all are done correctly. For a fast Upavasa, the later day is known to be the one to observe, provided it is joined with the sunrise. || 25 || ash-gourd ka um shaving loss of profit and the Shriphala original: śrīphala; the 'fruit of Lakshmi,' usually referring to the Bael fruit or coconut... indigo protecting... and also the head likely referring to hair-cutting or oiling the head. || 26 ||
