Kashyapa says: Regarding the marriage of women, a marriage in an even-numbered year from birth e.g., age 8 or 10 bestows sons and grandsons. In an odd-numbered year, it bestows [only] daughters. For men, the opposite is true; a marriage at the wrong time brings death.
The Sage Vyasa states:
An eight-year-old girl is called Gauri. term: Gauri|Literally 'The Fair One,' a name for the goddess Parvati; considered the most auspicious age for marriage in this historical tradition.

A girl who has passed ten years is rejected [ritually] on earth. If she becomes menstruating (Rajasvala) [while unmarried], the father incurs sins equivalent to those requiring household offerings. Whoever does not give his daughter in marriage by the twelfth year—the father surely drinks her menstrual flow month after month. This is a rhetorical hyperbole used in ancient texts to emphasize the father's spiritual responsibility to ensure the daughter's marriage before puberty.
The father, the grandfather, the brother, the paternal uncle, and the maternal uncle—these five go to a hellish state upon seeing the girl menstruate [while unmarried].

Regarding the Sun’s position:? when the Sun is in Capricorn, or in Aries during the month of Chaitra, or in Gemini during Ashadha—some say these are times for "holding hands" original: 'kara-pidanam'|A poetic synonym for the marriage ceremony..
Narada continues:
Marriage should not be performed in one's birth month, nor under one's birth constellation, nor on one's birthday.
Jupiter (Guru) says:
A marriage should not be performed between two "Eldests" original: 'Jyeshthena Jyeshthayoh'|Specifically, if both the bride and groom are the first-born children of their respective families.. However, if only one of them is the eldest, the marriage may be performed, even in the month of Jyeshtha.
Varaha says: Two "Eldest" factors are said to be middling; one "Eldest" factor is [acceptable].
