The original title is "Muhūrttadarpaṇam." In the Sanskrit tradition, "Jyotiṣam" refers to the "Science of Light," which encompasses both astronomy and the calculation of favorable times (astrology).
The word "Patrāṇi" refers to the individual leaves of the manuscript. "Saṃpūrṇam" confirms that the work is not a fragment, but contains the full text.
