Regarding the Flaw of Eclipses, Garga states: When both the Sun and Moon undergo an eclipse, it is a great flaw. For seven nights following them, one should perform no auspicious acts; after that, everything may be performed beautifully.
The Shaura text says: In whichever month the King [Sun] and the Minister [Moon] are eclipsed, there will be [misfortune]. Therefore, one should ensure the purity of both [planets] during a marriage.
