Also, one should draw five lines horizontally and five lines vertically. In each corner, two [stars are placed], and in the Agni South-East and Isha North-East corners, the other stars should be written in sequence. This forms the Five-Line Diagram Pancha-shalaka. The Pancha-shalaka is a technical grid used by Kashmiri astrologers to identify "Vedha" (astrological obstructions). By mapping the stars onto this grid, an astrologer can see if a planet’s position "pierces" or cancels out the auspiciousness of the wedding star.
