This page contains approximately 18 lines of "ghost" text. This is not original writing on this surface, but rather bleed-through—ink that has seeped through the paper from the reverse side of the leaf over many centuries. Because this is a mirror image of the writing on the back, and due to the significant fading of the ink, the characters are currently illegible.

The handwriting appears to be in either Sharada the ancient script traditionally used for Sanskrit in the Kashmir region or Devanagari the script used for modern Hindi and most printed Sanskrit today.

The primary surface of this page is largely blank, showing the natural texture and fibers of the handmade paper.
