"Speak, O Great Lord, of the characteristics of the planets, the zodiac signs, and the mantras, as well as the divisions of their exaltation and debilitation."

The Lord spoke:
"Listen, O Dear One, to the characteristics of all the signs without exception. I shall clearly explain to you the planets and their portions. Twelve signs are said to be established within the Zodiac Wheel. Along with the seven planets, O Gauri, listen now to their names in order.

The 'Body of Time' original: "Kala-purusha". In Vedic astrology, the zodiac is personified as a cosmic man whose body parts correspond to the twelve signs. is described as follows; this is especially important at the time of battle regarding where a blow or wound may occur:

The head, the face, the arms, the heart, the belly, the waist, the bladder, the genitals, the knees, the shanks, and the feet.

2. Taurus the Bull
3. Gemini the Twins
4. Cancer the Crab
5. Leo the Lion
6. Virgo the Maiden
7. Libra the Scales
8. Scorpio the Scorpion
9. Sagittarius the Bow
10. Capricorn the Deer-Goat
11. Aquarius the Water-pot
12. Pisces the Fish

The lords of these signs are the planets: Mars, Venus, Mercury, the Moon, the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Saturn, and Jupiter.
