The Vital Breath original: "Pavan." Literally "wind" or "air," referring to the Prana. touches all things and moves upward. Many in this world speak of it, but rare is the person who truly tastes its essence. 41.
Quatrain original: "Chopai." A four-line poetic meter.
Ten channels flow upward, and ten channels move downward. Where four horizontal channels also flow, the total count reaches twenty-four. 42. In addition to these, there are sixty other channels that form a knot at the base of the Energy Centers original: "Chakra." Spiritual wheels of energy.. Some are long and some are subtle; this is the true classification of the channels. 43. Just as the veins are seen in a leaf—some medium, some subtle, and some thick—all are visible at their ends, much like the veins on the leaf of a Sacred Fig original: "Peepar." Ten flow downward, and between them flow those that go horizontally and upward. Ten "winds" and ten channels entwine, yet each remains distinct. 45. I shall now explain their names, along with the channels mentioned in the Great Language.
