One should determine matters concerning the wife and others [from the hand]. A man whose ring finger Anamika The finger between the middle and the little finger; in Sanskrit, literally "the nameless one." is long becomes a scholar and an enjoyer of life’s pleasures. For one whose [ring finger] lacks substance, his wife may be a source of sorrow. For one whose index finger Pradeshini The "pointer" or forefinger. is very small, the welfare of the master [is affected]. Regarding the little finger Kanishthaka: if it is short, there is distress even amidst enjoyment. Those qualities found in a long index finger Pradeshini [are auspicious].
An [index finger] equal to the middle finger Madhya is excellent; likewise, a long little finger Kanishthaka is considered best. (34)
A human with short fingers may suffer from abdominal illness original: "Gulmi" (गुल्मी); in traditional medicine, this refers to a chronic enlargement of the spleen or internal tumors., or live as a servant or laborer, according to the Words of Samudra Samudravachane Referring to the authority of the Samudrika Shastra, the science of body signs.. Fingers that are long, closely set, and evenly rounded [are fortunate]; those whose fingers possess these traits [will prosper], of this there is no doubt. (35)

Men with nails Nakhaih that are white and curved at the tips are partakers of sorrow. They are of bad character even if born of noble family, and are deprived of the enjoyments of desire. (36)
With those same nails, if they are cracked or rough, those men become vessels of poverty. Men with greenish-tinted nails Nakhaih commit great sins.
