The body has been described in terms of how good and bad fortune are determined by its form. Now, by your grace, please speak of the auspicious characteristics of women. What kind of maiden should a man choose for marriage, and what kind should he avoid? What are the signs of a girl from a noble family? O Lord, you ought to tell me these things.

O Knower of the Truth of a bride's characteristics! A well-featured maiden born of a good family, who fulfills desires, is beautiful, and possesses a virtuous mind and gait within the home...
From the eighth year up to the tenth year, in sequence, This refers to the traditional classification of young girls by age (Gauri, Rohini, and Kanya) prior to marriage. she is known in this world as a maiden Kumārikā: a young girl, typically referring to the stage of childhood before puberty; it is then that she is fit to be given in marriage.
A maiden with a face like the full moon, with a radiance like the morning sun. One who has large eyes and red lips—such a maiden attains happiness.
