3 On the day of the Moon Monday, one should avoid the second half of the day of Vishakha A star cluster or lunar mansion if it is joined with an "affliction" original: "अघात" (aghāta) — an astrological obstacle. When the Moon is present, avoid the two Vishakha stars, Pushya, the two Ashadha stars, and the three stars of Chitra. On the day of Mars Tuesday, avoid Anuradha, Vishakha, Uttara Ashadha, Ashlesha, Ashvini, Ardra, and the two Dhanishta stars. On the day of the Moon Monday, avoid Mula, Vishakha, Chitra, Pushya, and Revati. 23. On the day of Jupiter Thursday, avoid Mula, Ardra, Magha, and the three stars related to Pushya, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Phalguni, and Uttara Bhadrapada. On the day of Saturn Saturday, avoid Magha, Shravana, Dhanishta, and the three stars beginning with the Sun original: "स्वर्कारार्कादि त्रयं" — likely referring to the constellations associated with the Sun's path, along with Mula. These are the causes for avoiding such times; otherwise, the results are excellent and auspicious. 24.
Regarding Diksha The sacred rite of initiation or spiritual consecration, the following stars are auspicious: Rohini, Uttara Phalguni, Mrigashirsha, Ashvini, Anuradha, Jyeshtha, Uttara Bhadrapada, and Pushya. These stars, when combined with a favorable moon, are excellent. For initiation, one must avoid the days of Mars and Saturn Tuesday and Saturday. The auspicious months for this rite are Phalguna, Magha, Vaishakha, Ashvina, and Kartika. 25.
Thus concludes the Auspicious Timing for Initiation.
