Guidelines for Daily Living

Immediately after eating, when engaged in work with women, and during sleep, the wise should always ensure the breath flows through the Sun channel Surya-chara: the right nostril.

When bathing, when in mourning, when afflicted by poison, when angry, or when weary during the day, the practitioner should consciously direct the breath to flow through the Sun channel to gain clarity and strength.

Regarding Progeny and Pregnancy

On the matter of the womb and the secrets of the Lord of Progeny Prajapati: a creator deity associated here with reproduction, if the breath is in the Sun channel during the "even" days of the cycle, it leads to a son. If the breath is in the Moon channel Nishakara during the "odd" days, it results in a daughter. However, a misalignment of these flows may lead to the loss of the pregnancy. 45

Divination by Names and Breath

When a question is asked, if the syllables of the name correspond to the "uneven" category, they belong to the Sun Bhaskara. If they are "even," they belong to the Moon. If the flow of breath matches these categories during the inquiry, there is gain; otherwise, there is loss. 46

Categorization of Magical and Spiritual Acts

The following intense actions should be performed when the Sun breath is active:

• Killing Marana
• Delusion Mohana
• Paralyzing Stambha
• Creating Enmity Vidvesha
• Uprooting Ucchatana
• Subjugation Vasha
• Acts of summoning, attraction, and breaking through obstacles.

Conversely, the following should be performed when the Moon breath rises:

• Peace-making Shantikam
• Nourishing rituals Paushtikam
• Gathering divine medicinal herbs
• The advanced practice of Yoga

When the breath rises in the morning, knowledge is born. If the Sun rises as the breath, it is one way; if the Moon, another. A rising breath that is balanced is auspicious; that which is uneven is not.

The System of the Five Sounds

Now, we begin the division of the Five Sounds Panchasvara: a system using the vowels A, I, U, E, O, categorized by time, the stages of life from childhood to death, and the different states of the soul.
