During the major period Dashā: a major planetary cycle of Jupiter Guru: also known as Jīva, the "living soul" or "life-giver", the destruction of enemies and victory are attained; a man becomes worthy of worship and respect. He finds himself in the company of the powerful original: "pracaṇḍa," meaning fierce, intense, or highly influential and remains free from various ailments.
7 He acquires abundant wealth and remains free from the advance of diseases. He may even become a minister Amātya: a high-ranking counselor or administrative official to a king Nareśvara: "lord of men".
In the sub-period of Mars Kuja: the planet Mars, associated with energy and sometimes conflict during the major cycle of Jupiter, there can be a destruction of one's works; yet, by overcoming enemies, one eventually finds success, good fortune, health, and happiness. However, this transit can also bring about illness and bondage original: "bandhana," which can refer to physical imprisonment or feeling "tied down" by circumstances or hardships caused by the king.
Thus ends the results of the sub-periods within the major cycle of Jupiter Bṛhaspati: another name for Jupiter, the priest of the gods.
Under the major cycle of Saturn Shani: the planet associated with karma, time, and trials, one suffers from false accusations original: "Mithyāpavāda," meaning slander or being blamed for things one did not do. There is a turning away from or by one's kinsmen, and a loss of wealth and property. A sense of hopelessness original: "nirāśatā" prevails; one's efforts and tasks meet with failure, and great distress and suffering occur throughout this period of Saturn.
