The Sun, Jupiter, Saturn original: "asita," the dark one, the Moon original: "shītagū," the cool-rayed one, Mercury original: "vid," the knowing one, Venus, and Mars original: "asṛj," the blood-red one are the lords in their respective order. For those born during the day or the night, these rulers are established for the four quarters the triplicities or groups of three signs associated with the elements. In certain conditions, these roles are reversed. The lords of the triplicities Trairashika: a system of three planetary rulers for each element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) that change depending on whether the chart is for day or night for the signs beginning with Sagittarius the fourth set of signs are Saturn, Mars, Jupiter, and the Moon, following in their proper sequence. ॥ 1 ॥

When a faster-moving planet is at a lower degree and a slower-moving planet is at a higher degree within the same sign or an aspecting sign, and they are within the range of their influence original: "dīptāṃśa," the "orb" of a planet's power, this configuration is known as Muthashila original: "muyaśila," an applying aspect signifying that an event is coming to fruition. It is considered "full" or complete when their degrees are equal. If the slower planet is positioned ahead of the faster planet, or if the faster planet has already passed the degrees of the slower one and is moving away, this is known as Isharafa original: "īśarāphā," a separating aspect signifying that an event or influence is fading. ॥ 1 ॥
