This table functions as a lookup key. Each column represents a "Varga" or phonetic group. For example, any letter in the "Ka" group (Ka, Kha, Ga, Gha, Ṅa) carries the value of 5. The vowels in the first column all carry the value of 8.
Having applied the logic, one should divide the total by seven. Whosoever’s name results in the higher remaining digit The "remainder" (śeṣa) after division is the one who will be victorious. Through this calculation of the king’s numerical value original: "nṛṇāṃkaḥ", the determination of victory and defeat is reached. This is to be known as the 6th rule: the Three-fold Wheel of Defeat (Parajaya Chakra Trayam).
Written by Pandit Chotaramji, this is the Wheel of the Auspicious and Inauspicious (Kulākula Chakra) for the King’s Path.
