...[In auspicious] actions, as well as [general] well-being, everything is praised during the Bright Fortnight Shukla Pakshathe waxing phase of the moon. ॥ ३५ ॥
The first day Pratipad, the second Dvitiya, the third Tritiya, and following that, the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and then the eighth. ॥ १ ॥ The ninth, tenth, and eleventh; then the twelfth, then the thirteenth is to be known, and then the fourteenth is declared. ॥ २ ॥ There is the Full Moon Purnima in the Bright Fortnight, while in the Dark Fortnight the waning phase, it is known as the New Moon Amavasya. The lords of these lunar days the presiding deities are the Creator VidhatriBrahma and the others, the gods, starting with the Sun and the Planets. ॥ ३ ॥ The Sun, Water Varuna, the All-gods Vishvedevas, Vishnu ba, the God of Love Smara, and Shiva. The Sun, Brihaspati the Guru of the gods, the Destroyer Ghara, and the Ancestors Pitris are thus celebrated [as the lords of the remaining days]. ॥ ४ ॥

Nanda Joyful, Bhadra Gentle, Jaya Victorious, Rikta Empty, and Purna Full are the [five groups of days], starting from the first day Pratipad. ॥ ४ ॥ In the middle of these? it is auspicious during the Bright Fortnight, but not for the fifth in the sequence. ॥ ५ ॥ In the Dark Fortnight, they are auspicious in the middle, and always auspicious without doubt.

Singing, dancing, as well as field work, painting, and collecting [supplies]; clothing, va ornaments, and craftsmanship—these are remembered as auspicious when occurring on a Nanda the 1st, 6th, or 11th day. ॥ ७ ॥ Marriage, the sacred thread ceremony Upanayana, travel, jewelry, arts and crafts, and so on; tasks involving elephants and chariots bring success on the Bhadra the 2nd, 7th, or 12th days. ॥ ८ ॥ For military matters, battle, weapons, processions, festivals, and house-building; for medicine and commerce, success is found in all these on the Jaya the 3rd, 8th, or 13th days. ॥ ९ ॥ For the killing or capture of enemies, and for the employment of poison or weapons; these should be performed at night?...
