The Lunar Mansions of Mula, Magha, the two Purvas Purva-Phalguni and Purva-Ashadha, Vishakha, and the two Bharanis Bharani and its associated pair, often implying Krittika in certain contexts, though here listed as a group are considered Downward-facing. ॥ 53 ॥
In these mansions, one should perform activities directed toward the earth, such as digging wells, small tanks, or large ponds. They are also suitable for the extraction of hidden treasures, entering underground cavities original: "randhra-pravesha," likely referring to mining or exploring tunnels, and performing mathematical calculations.
Punarvasu, Anuradha, Jyeshtha, the three beginning with Hasta Hasta, Chitra, and Swati, Mrigashira, and the two ending with Revati Revati and likely Ashwini are Sideward-facing original: "tiryak," meaning horizontal or across. When the Moon is in these stars, one should perform the following actions: ॥ 54 ॥
The training or movement of elephants, horses, and chariots; the operation of machinery; the launching or travel of boats; and the use of palanquins, plows, and other mechanical tools are all understood by the wise to be performed in these Sideward-facing mansions. ॥ 55 ॥
The three Uttaras Uttara-Phalguni, Uttara-Ashadha, and Uttara-Bhadrapada, Rohini, Pushya, Ardra, and the three Shravanas Shravana, Dhanishtha, and Shatabhisha are the Upward-facing mansions. Planets and Houses The wise have declared that activities directed upward should be performed in these stars: ॥ 56 ॥
The construction of palaces or temples, the raising of banners, the crafting of ceremonial umbrellas, the building of boundary walls and archways, the coronation of kings, and the planting of gardens or tall structures should be undertaken at these times. ॥ 57 ॥
The counts of stars are: three, three, six, five, three, one, four, three, five, and five; followed by two, four, three, and three; and one hundred with two referring to Shatabhisha, and finally thirty-two. ॥ 58 ॥ These are the number of stars in the mansions starting from Ashwini, given in their proper sequence. 54 mansions This likely refers to a specific sub-count or total in a different system

Bharani resembles a womb original: "bhaga," referring to the female reproductive organ. ॥ 60 ॥
Krittika is known to look like a razor original: "sura," meaning a blade or sharp tool, while Rohini has the appearance of a cart.
Mrigashira is shaped like the head of a deer, and Ardra resembles a shining gem. ॥ 61 ॥
Punarvasu is like a house, and Pushya is shaped like an arrow.
Ashlesha is in the form of a wheel, while Magha is remembered as looking like a palatial hall. ॥ 62 ॥
Both Phalgunis Purva and Uttara are shaped like carts, and Hasta is in the form of a hand. Chitra appears like a pearl.
