In the bright fortnight original: "shukla paksha", Bhadra The Vishti Karana, personified as a fierce goddess occurs in the second half of the 4th and 11th lunar days; it is also said to occur in the first half of the 8th and 15th (Full Moon) days. 9 In the dark fortnight original: "krishna paksha", it occurs in the second half of the 3rd and 10th lunar days, and in the first half of the 7th and 14th days. 11
Five units of time original: "nadis", a unit of 24 minutes are in the mouth, one in the throat, eleven in the heart, five in the navel, six in the waist, and three units in the tail. 12 The mouth causes the destruction of work; the throat leads to the loss of wealth; the heart leads to the loss of intellect and to strife; while the tail brings victory. Therefore, in these specific results, one should strictly avoid only the time associated with the mouth. 13
According to the lunar days and the watches of the day original: "yama"... 14 ...one should know the directions starting from the East in order. One should recognize the mouth as poisonous, whereas the rest of the body is auspicious. 26
