When the lunar days tithi: a single day in the lunar calendar, representing the distance between the sun and moon are in a specific opposition, then death occurs. 9
It is indeed determined; or if not, one is struck down in the month of Kartika original: "kārtikām" — a month in the Hindu calendar typically falling in October–November by that influence. From that point onwards, in whatever year [this occurs], the outcome manifests within seventy-two days. 91
Therefore, one should not even contemplate the twilight when both [the sun and moon] are visible. If this occurs in the triad beginning with birth original: "janmādi-tritaye": likely referring to the three specific stars associated with a person's birth (Janma, Anujanma, and Trijanma), there is [danger from] water; however, within six months, there will be a gain of wealth. 92
If the twilight passes without the influence leaving, the resulting disease is one that brings death. That which is joined with affliction śūla: literally a "spear," referring to sharp pain or a specific malefic astrological combination also affects the wife, wealth, home, and vehicle. 93
Whether in old age or when the sun of death rises, it is certain that all these things will perish.
Thus ends the glorious [treatise].
