The arc of that base-sine correction bhujajyā-phala the result of the sine calculation related to the planet's eccentricity is the correction in minutes of arc and so on for the slow-anomaly (39). The cosine correction koṭiphala in the fast-anomaly śīghra-kendra the anomaly related to the Earth's motion is known to be additive when the anomaly is in the signs beginning with Capricorn. It is subtractive Meaning: the cosine-result is to be added to the radius from the radius-sine trijyā in the signs beginning with Cancer (40).
The square root of the sum of the squares of the base-sine correction and the corrected cosine is the hypotenuse, called the variable-hypotenuse calakarṇa. Multiply the base-sine correction by the radius (41) and divide it by the variable-hypotenuse; the result is known as the fast-correction śaighra-phala in arc-minutes. This and the preceding steps are for the operations of the four planets beginning with Mars Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus; Saturn is implied in this group (42).
For the Sun and Moon, only the slow correction mānda-karma is performed. For Mars and the others, it is said there are four corrections in sequence: fast, slow, slow, and fast (43). When the anomaly is in the half-zodiac beginning with Aries, the correction is additive for all planets; in the half-zodiac beginning with Libra, the correction is subtractive in minutes (44).
The daily motion bhukti of the planet, multiplied by the base-sine correction of the Sun and divided by the total minutes in the circle of the zodiac 21,600 minutes, gives the correction in minutes to be applied to the planet just like the Sun (45). In the middle of the calculation, half of the fast correction and half of the slow correction are applied; then, to the mean planet, the full slow correction and the full fast correction are applied (46).
The mean motion of the Lord of Night the Moon is corrected by its own slow motion. Having calculated the difference of the sines and so on, half of the motion is either added or subtracted (47). The correction for the daily motion of a planet should be performed like the slow correction. At the end of a sign, the multiplier of the motion is again multiplied by 225 original: "tattva-netraiḥ" — 25 and 2, meaning 225 (48).
The degrees equal to the circumference of its own slow-anomaly multiplied by 360 are the minutes. These are additive in the signs beginning with Cancer and subtractive in those beginning with Capricorn (49). From the daily motion corrected for the slow-anomaly, subtract the daily motion of the fast-anomaly; multiply the remainder by the difference between the radius and the hypotenuse (50).
