The illustrious Josi Gangadhara, a man of renowned virtues and superintendent of the Academy of Sciences original: "Shastrashala-adhinatha". The Shastrashala was a traditional center for the study of the Shastras (sacred sciences) often under royal patronage., who acts in accordance with the commands of the Lord [of the region] whose name begins with the auspicious word "Mangala." His son, having corrected this book with great effort alongside various excellent scholars, now sends it forth.

॥ The Jewel of Established Truths ॥

original: "Siddhānta Kaustubha". As noted previously, this is a major astronomical work. The "Jewel" (Kaustubha) refers to the legendary gem worn by Vishnu, symbolizing the precious nature of this knowledge.

For the pleasure of the mind of King Ranavir Singh Maharaja Ranbir Singh (reigned 1857–1885), a famous patron of Sanskrit learning in Jammu and Kashmir, [this work] was brought to completion, beginning with auspicious verses. It was accomplished by those who have conquered all enemies [of the mind] and who are constantly engaged in the study of the Vedas.
