...for eight years The OCR reads "aṇi-varṣāṇi," likely a scribal variant for "aṣṭa-varṣāṇi" (eight years), referring to the period of infant mortality risk known as Balarishta. from birth, the destiny is still being fashioned; therefore, one should not calculate the longevity Ayurdaya: the mathematical estimation of a person's lifespan. || 30 ||

If there is a combination of inauspicious punishments original: aśubha-daṇḍa-saṃyoga, or if [the Moon] is waning and joined with a malefic planet, and if auspicious planets do not cast their aspect Drishti: the influence or "glance" one planet casts upon another upon it, then the allotted years are not attained i.e., the child may not survive to adulthood. || 31 ||

Even if Jupiter or Venus original: Guru and Bhargava are in their best divisional sign Vargottama: a planet that occupies the same zodiac sign in both the primary chart and the divisional ninth chart, signifying great dignity, or are highly exalted, or are placed in an angular house Kendra: the 1st, 4th, 7th, or 10th houses, which are the most powerful positions in a horoscope—even then, if there is a powerful malefic planet present, the share of years is not attained. || 32 ||

One should calculate the longevity for ninety-two years original: nava-netrāṇi, literally "nine-eyes." In the Katapayadi system or symbolic number notation, eyes represent 2 and nava is 9. Read right-to-left, this equals 29; however, in many contexts of longevity, it may refer to 92.. For that purpose, the required tools are written here in their proper order. || 1 ||

Having first assigned the five vowels, one should then place the five digits. In the same way, one should place the consonants beginning with the letter 'A' and the other characters. || 2 ||

The chart Chakra: a symbolic grid or diagram used for divination shows [the letters] A, Ka, Cha, Tha, Pa and so on, with the letter La appearing at the end. These are arranged in horizontal rows in sequence, divided into groups of five. || 3 ||
