If Jupiter original: Guru reaches the two chest-points and Mars becomes pacified original: shanto; likely indicating a specific weakened or neutralized state in the chart, the abandonment of life original: prana-tyago; a common euphemism for death occurs in that year when joined with malefic planets. || 38 ||

If Mars reaches the two chest-points, and Mars also appears at the end [of the calculation], death occurs within a year, especially if the year is joined with malefic planets. || 39 ||

If Venus original: Shukra is in the two chest-points or in a year joined with malefic planets, and is combined with the second vowel Svara: in this context, referring to the "science of sound" where specific vowels are associated with life-force and directions, death is certain. || 40 ||
