...there should be rise?. Indeed, each one is declared for the seven days original: "saptadinā". This which I have told you, O Auspicious One, is the gross form; now listen again to the sequence of its expansion. O Goddess, I shall describe that sequence:
In the waxing fortnight original: "shukla-paksha", the rise of the vowel A original: "akāra" occurs on the Nanda The 'Joyous' lunar days dates, which are the first, sixth, and eleventh days.
On the second, seventh, and twelfth days—in these dates known as Bhadra The 'Auspicious' lunar days—one should recognize the rise of the vowel I original: "ikāra" in the science of breath.
On the third, eighth, and thirteenth days—in these dates known as Jaya The 'Victorious' lunar days—one should recognize the rise of the vowel U original: "ukāra", O Dear One.
On the fourth, ninth, and likewise the fourteenth days—in these dates known as Rikta The 'Empty' lunar days; traditionally considered inauspicious for new beginnings—thus occurs the rise of the vowel E original: "ekāra".
On the fifth, tenth, and fifteenth days—know these as the Purna The 'Full' or 'Complete' lunar days dates—the rise of the vowel O original: "okāra" occurs.
O Goddess, in the waxing fortnight, it is said that the names of the dates correspond to the vowels starting with 'A' and so on. The lunar dates categorized as Nanda, Bhadra, Jaya, Rikta, and Purna proceed in order. Their planetary rulers are Mars, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn original: "Ruja-Soma-Jña-Vāgīsha-Sita-Sūryasuta" in respective order.
Whether an outcome is auspicious or inauspicious is determined by these. The directions—East, South, West, North, and the Center—correspond to them in order.
If Mars original: "Bhauma" is in the house of a Nanda date, but the deity of the constellation Nakshatra is not present there, then the vowel A loses its power of rise.
If the Moon original: "Soma" is in the house of a Bhadra date, but the Serpent Deity original: "Sarpa-daivata"; referring to the Ashlesha constellation is not present, then the vowel I is affected.
If Mercury original: "Jña" is in the house of a Jaya date, and its deity is likewise present, then the rise of the vowel U occurs.
If Venus original: "Shukra" is in the house of a Rikta date, and the deity is present there, then the rise of the vowel E occurs.
If Saturn original: "Sauri" is in the house of a Purna date, and the deity is present there, then the rise of the vowel O occurs.
The destruction of the vowel A...
