Ho. 3 ...the best results. In the seventh house, it brings honor from the King; in the eighth, death; in the ninth, religious merit and gain; in the tenth, the fulfillment of the heart’s desires; in the eleventh, every kind of gain; and in the twelfth, certain loss.
Regarding the birth chart original: "dvijanmani": when the Sun, Rahu, Saturn, and Mars original: "bhumisuta," literally "son of the Earth" are situated in the first (1), fifth (5), seventh (7), fourth (4), eighth (8), or twelfth (12) houses, or are combined with the fifth (5) house of religious merit—if they do not move toward a favorable position, they cause the destruction of gold and wealth.
Regarding the measurement of gentle and fierce planetary influences for women: in Pisces and Aries, three units are highly auspicious. In Taurus and Aquarius, [the measurement is similar]. In Gemini and Capricorn, five units are prescribed. In the ascendant lagna, six units are remembered as the standard.
In Indian astrology, a "Yoga" is one of 27 specific divisions of time based on the combined longitude of the Sun and Moon. Each has a unique character.
The Yogas are: Vishkumbha (The Support), Priti (Love), Ayushman (The Long-lived), Saubhagya (Good Fortune), Shobhana (Splendor), Atiganda (Great Danger), Sukarma (Virtuous Action), Dhriti (Resolution), Shula (The Spear), Ganda (The Knot), Vriddhi (Growth), Dhruva (The Fixed), Vyaghata (The Blow), Harshana (Joy), Vajra (The Thunderbolt), Siddhi (Success), Vyatipata (Calamity), Variyan (The Superior), Parigha (The Obstacle), Shiva (The Auspicious), Siddha (The Accomplished), Sadhya (The Achievable), Shubha (The Bright), Shukla (The White), Brahma (The Creator), Indra (The Chief), and Vaidhriti (The Disturbance). These twenty-seven are named as having significant results.
A "Karana" is half of a Tithi (lunar day). There are 11 types, divided into "mobile" and "stationary."
Double the current lunar day tithi, subtract one, and divide the result by seven. The remainder is called the Karana.
The seven mobile Karanas are:
1. Bava
2. Balava
3. Kaulava
4. Taitila
5. Gara
6. Vanija
7. Vishti
Regarding the stationary Karanas: Shakuni occurs in the second half of the 14th day of the dark fortnight. Chatushpada and Naga occur during the two halves of the New Moon day Amavasya. Kimstughna occurs during the first half of the first day of the bright fortnight. These four are fixed, as the wise have taught. Following the end of the first day of the bright fortnight, the Bava Karana begins again. These eleven should be understood through their division into mobile and stationary types.
Each of the 27 lunar mansions (Nakshatras) is presided over by a Vedic deity.
