...the wise have declared twenty-eight original: "ashtavimshati," referring to the 27 standard lunar mansions plus the intercalary star Abhijit to be the number [of lunar mansions]. Now, the auspicious alignments Siddhayoga|An auspicious astrological period where actions undertaken are likely to succeed based on the lunar mansions, lunar days, and weekdays are as follows:
On a Sunday, the stars Ashwini, Hasta, Mula, Pushya, and the three Uttaras The "three Uttaras" are the stars Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha, and Uttara Bhadrapada create the Yoga of Achievement. Likewise, the fifth lunar day Panchami also creates the Yoga of Achievement.
On a Sunday, the stars Vishakha, Bharani, Jyeshtha, Anuradha original: "maitra", and Magha, combined with the fourteenth, twelfth, or seventh lunar days, create the Opposing Alignments Viruddha Yoga|Inauspicious planetary combinations that should be avoided for important tasks.
On a Monday, the stars Pushya, the three Uttaras, Shravana, Rohini, and Mrigashirsha, along with the ninth or tenth lunar days, are also declared by the wise to be the Yoga of Achievement.
On a Monday original: "candre," literally "under the Moon", the stars Vishakha, Bharani, and Purva Phalguni, combined with the eleventh, sixth, or thirteenth lunar days, are the Opposing Alignments that should be avoided.
On a Saturday original: "shanau", the stars Rohini, Swati, Shravana, Purva Phalguni, and Magha, combined with the ninth, fourth, or fourteenth lunar days, create the Yoga of Achievement.
On a Saturday, the stars Hasta, Uttara Ashadha, Vishakha, Purva Phalguni, and Revati—these should always be avoided [for important work]—along with the sixth or seventh lunar days, create the Opposing Alignments. || 6 ||
Nanda: 1st, 6th, and 11th lunar days.
Bhadra: 2nd, 7th, and 12th lunar days.
Jaya: 3rd, 8th, and 13th lunar days.
Rikta: 4th, 9th, and 14th lunar days.
Purna: 5th, 10th, and 15th Full Moon/New Moon lunar days.
The wise say that a Nanda day on a Friday, Bhadra on a Saturday, Rikta on a Tuesday, Jaya on a Wednesday, and Purna on a Thursday are to be known as the Yoga of Achievement; in auspicious matters, they bring auspicious results.
The star Hasta on a Sunday, Mrigashirsha on a Monday, Ashwini on a Tuesday, Anuradha original: "maitram" on a Wednesday, Pushya on a Thursday, Revati on a Friday, and Rohini on a Saturday original: "surya putre," literally "Son of the Sun" grants all manner of success. This has been called the Alignment of the Nectar of Success Amrutasiddhi|A highly auspicious period believed to make one's efforts "immortal" or fruit-bearing by the ancients. Thus ends the Alignment of the Nectar of Success.
When a certain lunar day is joined with a certain weekday, if the thirteenth day is involved, it becomes the Saw Alignment Krakachayoga|An inauspicious time likened to a saw, which "cuts" or destroys the benefits of an action, which destroys auspiciousness. Thus ends the Saw Alignment.
Magha on a Sunday, Vishakha on two [days], [and] on a Tuesday... The text cuts off mid-calculation of further alignments.
