The Nanda The 1st, 6th, and 11th lunar days days fall on Sunday and Tuesday; the Bhadra The 2nd, 7th, and 12th lunar days days fall on Friday and Monday; and the Jaya The 3rd, 8th, and 13th lunar days days fall on Wednesday.
The Rikta The 4th, 9th, and 14th lunar days, literally "empty" days days fall on Saturday, and the Purna The 5th, 10th, and 15th lunar days, literally "full" days day is the "giver of death" original: "mritada". On a Saturday, the star Revati creates the Alignment of Death Mrityu Yoga|A highly inauspicious time believed to bring failure or health risks.
The stars Anuradha original: "maitra", the three stars starting with Hasta Hasta, Chitra, and Svati, Mrigashirsha, and Punarvasu are to be known [for specific rites]. Under the Sun's influence, these stars bring the seed of form and allow one to accomplish Universal Success original: "sarvasiddhi".
The three Purvas Purva Phalguni, Purva Ashadha, and Purva Bhadrapada, along with Vishakha, Krittika, Bharani original: "yama", Mula, and Svati original: "vayu" are known by the wise as a group of nine stars. 7 Earthworks, fire rituals, digging pits or holes, and warfare should be performed while the "face of the wind" likely referring to downward-facing stars is active; the wise should conduct such works then.
The three Uttaras Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha, and Uttara Bhadrapada, Pushya, Rohini, Ardra, and the three stars starting with Shravana Shravana, Dhanishta, and Shatabhisha; original: "shruti trayam" are known as the Upward-facing Stars Urdhva-mukha|Stars whose influence is directed upwards, suitable for vertical constructions and growth by the learned.
Palaces, ceremonial umbrellas, houses, city walls, flags, and arched gateways—as well as royal consecrations and the chanting of mantras—should be performed under this Upward-facing group of stars.
The [twenty-eight alignments] are: Ananda, Kaladanda, Dhumra, Dhatri, Saumya, Dhvanksha, Ketaka, and then Shrivatsa, Vajra, Mudgara, Chhatra, Maitra, Pramada, Karala, Siddhi, Shubha, Amrita, Musala, Gada, Matanga, Rakshasa, Chara, Sthira, and Vardhamana. These grant fruits according to their names. 7 in Mudgara; 5 names in Veda; 4 names in Padma; 7 in Gada; 4 in Musala; 2; 1; 2. These are the Death-bringers; all others are the Ananda alignments.
