While you are performing these slow hand movements, realize that the nerve-current is slowly passing down through your body, invigorating and stimulating every part. If any organ is affected, you may let your hands rest there for a moment or two as they pass downward; you will experience significant relief from this. The process from head to feet should take between one and three minutes, not counting the time spent stopping over specific organs. Afterward, rest for a few minutes and repeat the process, doing so no more than seven times. Seven repetitions constitute a thorough treatment, while three will provide a refreshing one.
You may treat yourself as often as you like during the day or night, but in this—as in everything else—moderation is best. You will find it advantageous to give yourself a thorough treatment at night when you go to bed; a sound night’s sleep will usually be the result. Do not press hard against your body during the treatment. You are not physically manipulating or massaging yourself; the movement of the hands is simply intended to create an easy path for the mental current of Thought Force—acting as a sort of "skirmish line" original: "skirmish line" — a military term for a line of soldiers sent ahead of the main army to scout or clear the way; here it refers to the hands clearing a path for mental energy. sent out ahead.
You will be aware of a distinct increase of warmth in the body as your hands move over the various parts, and you will feel a positive sense of stimulation. While treating yourself, breathe slowly and deeply, letting your hands rest while you inhale, and moving them slowly downward as you exhale. You may not achieve the desired results from the first few treatments, but keep at it, as practice makes perfect. Once you master the technique, you can stimulate the circulation to any part of the body and strengthen any organ in just a moment or two.
