There are sixteen [points]. Thus, in whatever companion and whatever neighboring [line] they have, the lines of points must be linked two by two, until the last two; those that remain must be reduced to one if only one remains. One must fix the final point until the entire figure is formed. Once formed, it is placed first. And let the querent the person asking the question accept it as the thing properly sought, just as the question brings knowledge and mention of the matter. And as in the judgments of the pope? original: "papi"; possibly a reference to an authority or a scribal error for "mappae" (the map/chart) it is to be judged, so it should be known that the eight figures on the right side represent the querent and those assisting them; the remaining eight represent the thing sought. The Judge the 15th figure in a geomantic chart, which provides the final answer is what is called the fifteenth figure.
This is the key through which the four points are known, which signify the four elements: namely fire Geomantic figure with red dots: two dots, one dot, one dot, two dots (Fortuna Major), air Geomantic figure with red dots: two dots, one dot, two dots, one dot (Albus), water Geomantic figure with red dots: one dot, two dots, two dots, one dot (Conjunctio), and earth Geomantic figure with red dots: one dot, two dots, one dot, two dots (Fortuna Minor). It must be said that the first figure represents the East, the second the West, the third the South, and the fourth the North.
Once the question is formed through fifteen figures, before you judge anything by it, look at the Judge, that is, the fifteenth figure. If it was a diverse? figure, it means that it is erroneous in some part. First, in the middle?, all those judging are wise; they are generated first, and then the error and the location of the error [are found]... This is a way of knowing if the processes [are correct]; if the Witnesses the 13th and 14th figures that precede the Judge were even and otherwise were odd, then it is a sign that you have erred. Because of this, it proceeds through the same [steps]: first preparing the points of the "generation of budding" likely referring to the creation of the 'Daughter' figures from the 'Mothers'. The figures [numbered] four, six, seven, eleven, and twelve are on the right. And naturally, there are born from the first six figures those called Daughters figures 5 through 8 in a chart, derived from the first four 'Mothers'. That is, from the fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth, eleventh, and twelfth... they are produced from the four Mothers the first four figures of the chart, as is clear in this example. The first [line] of the points of the fourteenth figure takes its action from the... the second order from the sixth, the third from the seventh. Wherefore the order from the eighth... in this way, if the tenth figure was first of the points, the first order of points of the eighth figure has two points. If it is the fifth figure, they bring forth a diversity of points; the first order on the right witness has only one point. And this method preserves the time... publicly found in the proposal?. The method of the right witness: they have from the four Daughters the first witness; they have from the four figures called Mothers [the second witness], and thus the proposed method is proven. I have proven it: if both witnesses [agree], then it is well done; if not, there is an error.
Note: if it is asked why the fifteenth figure in [this] part must be even:
We say that since it is born from two witnesses, it has this virtue in whatever way [it is formed].
