Those who are born into this faith do not need to be anxious about any worldly original: "Temporal" thing, for all blessings will be provided in abundance. Therefore, do not work so hard for that perishing wealth Mammon: material wealth or greed, often personified as a false god, but rather for that "white stone" of pure faith that fed many thousands with bread. The "white stone" is a biblical reference from Revelation 2:17, often symbolizing a secret, divine admission into God's kingdom.
Remember the Lord’s teaching: Do not worry about what you will eat or drink, or what you will wear. The Lord knew that through the spirit and power of faith, there would be support and a supply of all necessary things.
But it may be said that this kind of faith has rarely sprouted in anyone yet.
Well, even if that is true for now, it is still a fact that such a faith once existed and will certainly be revived in those who are willing to "die" to everything that has choked, stifled, and even bound down this "lily of faith."
Now, let us move on to the second rule of direction for spiritual souls who desire to become well-acquainted with a life in God and find rest within it.
Just as the first rule was to cast off all unnecessary external burdens and weights, this second rule is more internal. It involves taking great care to clear away from the heart and mind the "scum" that boils up from our corruptible human nature. This nature generates a constant stream of excessive imaginations that cannot be stopped, except when the spring of the Holy Spirit opens and drowns that "chaffy dust" which defiles the body’s temple.
The soul must learn this skill from the Holy Spirit: as soon as this kind of muddy matter rises in the mind, you must immediately plunge and bathe yourself in the springing pool where the "Water of Life" bubbles up. That is our healing, and it is just as near to us as the opposing source of corruption.
In this way, we can keep our hearts pure and set apart as a most holy sanctuary for the priestly spirit to serve in. Thus, we prepare a holy, dedicated place for God and Christ to reveal themselves within us.
For this reason, the Holy Spirit was promised and given—to straighten the "crooked ways" within us so that Christ’s spiritual humanity might dwell in a pure mind. Just as John the Baptist went before to prepare the way and declare him to be the "Lamb of God" who takes away the sins of the world, John's ministry allowed for a reformation and a repentance leading to life.
