The size of the original drawings has been reduced on Plates LXVI, CVII, CIX, CXI No. 1, CXII, CXIII, CXIV, CXVI, CXVII, CXVIII, and CXXII. On Plate CXIX, it has been enlarged. The color and tone of the paper have in every case been faithfully imitated in order to give the facsimiles a perfect and complete resemblance to the originals, whether drawn in charcoal, red chalk, or pen and ink. It should be understood that all drawings reproduced here are in pen and ink unless otherwise stated.
