I, who previously issued three volumes to advance the study of Chemistry original: "Chemicorum." At this time, alchemy and chemistry were viewed as the same pursuit—the investigation of the secrets of nature and matter. into the public light through printing—volumes filled with various types of teachings and the scholarly works original: "lucubrationibus." This term literally refers to "work done by candlelight," highlighting the intense, late-night labor of the authors. of the most esteemed men, to the significant benefit of many—now present to you, dear Reader, the Fourth Volume. This volume contains two types of writings. The first group consists of those which, although previously available to the public, were published individually at different times and in various places. Because they were scattered, they were difficult for many to obtain. In this book, I have gathered them together and combined them into a single volume so that readers who might otherwise lack them by chance can find them all collected and placed before their eyes here, offering them what they previously sought. The second type consists of very ancient manuscripts that have never been made public before and have been seen by very few—indeed, I might say none—of the people of our time. I have spared no expense or labor in acquiring and publishing these. Some of them were written in such ancient and outdated handwriting that simply deciphering them was a significant challenge for our team.
