[Peter], and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the
19 sea; for they were fishermen. * And he said to them: "Come after
20 me, and I will make you fishers of men." * And they
21 immediately leaving their tools original: "զգործիսն" (the tools/implements), referring to their fishing gear and nets, followed him. * And
going on from there, he saw two other brothers,
James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in
the boat with Zebedee their father, while they
22 were mending their nets; and he called them. * They
immediately leaving the boat and their father,
followed him.

23 * And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching
in their gatherings original: "ժողովուրդս" (peoples/assemblies), traditionally translated as synagogues in this context and preaching the gospel of the
kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease
24 among the people. * And his fame went throughout all the land
of Syria, and they brought to him all the sick who were
afflicted with various pains and torments, the demon-
possessed, the moon-struck moon-struck: a literal translation of "լուսնոտ" (lusnot), historically used to describe those with epilepsy, believed to be influenced by the moon, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.
25 * And great crowds followed him from
Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea,
and from beyond the Jordan; and he healed them.

1 And seeing the crowds, he went up to the mountain; and when
he sat there, his disciples approached him.
2 * And opening his mouth, he taught them, and said:
3 * "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of
4 heaven. * Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 * Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. *
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they
7 shall be satisfied. * Blessed are the merciful, for they shall find
8 mercy. * Blessed are those who are pure in heart, for they
9 shall see God. * Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be
10 called sons of God. * Blessed are those who are persecuted for the
11 sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. * Blessed are
you when they shall revile you and persecute you, and say—
