An ornate, gold-tooled book cover or frontispiece is presented on red leather. The design features a central rectangular panel divided into three sections. The middle section depicts a fountain of life with the Lamb of God at the summit. This figure is known as the Agnus Dei. Two birds flank the Lamb. Below the fountain, two stags drink from the flowing waters amidst floral and tree patterns. The top and bottom sections contain Latin text from the Psalms arranged in curved banners. A wide border of repeating floral and vine motifs in gold encloses the entire composition.
