Better is the sacrifice of knowledge than the sacrifice of material objects, O scorcher of foes!

original: "Śreyân dravyamayâd yajnâj jnâna-yajnah parantapah"
"Scorcher of foes" (Parantapa) is an epithet for Arjuna, the warrior-prince receiving these teachings.

All action in its entirety, O son of Pritha, culminates in knowledge.

original: "Sarvam karmâkhilam Pârtha jnâne parisamâpyate"

Indeed, there is no purifier in this world equal to knowledge;
