Cochin, today known as Kochi, was a major princely state on the southwest coast of India. The State Museum served as a repository for the region's royal and cultural heritage.
RAMA VARMA RESEARCH INSTITUTE,
Named after the ruling family of Cochin, this institute was established in Trichur (Thrissur) to promote the study of history, archaeology, and Sanskrit literature.
TRICHUR, COCHIN STATE.
Trichur is traditionally considered the cultural capital of the region. This stamp is printed over a faint heraldic emblem of the Cochin State, which features two elephants—a symbol of royalty and divinity in South India—flanking a central crest.
