Yin-Enveloping Toxic Sores

When a sore develops in a meridianA channel through which life energy or "Qi" flows, connecting organs and surface points. that is characterized by an abundance of Blood but a deficiency of QiThe vital life force or energy of the body., it will inevitably be very painful. The method of treatment must focus on supplementing the Qi to dispel the "wind-heat" toxins; by doing so, whether the sore has already ulcerated or not, it will be much easier to disperse and heal. Astragalus Yin-Dispelling Decoction

For treating toxic sores, carbuncles, and boils on the inner and outer thighs

Ingredient	Dosage
Raw Astragalus	5 mace (approx. 18.75g) original: "生黄芪" (Sheng Huangqi); a root used to strengthen the body's defensive energy and push toxins out.
Bupleurum root	1.5 mace original: "柴胡" (Chaihu); helps clear heat from the sides of the body.
White Peony root	5 mace original: "白芍" (Baishao); used here to soften the liver energy and nourish the blood.
Fried Gardenia fruit	1.5 mace original: "炒梔子" (Chao Zhizi); used to drain heat and "fire" from the blood.
Burdock seed	1 mace original: "大力子" (Dalizi); literally "Great Power Seed," it is excellent for skin eruptions.
Licorice root	2 mace original: "甘草" (Gancao)
Forsythia fruit	1 mace original: "連翹" (Lianqiao); a common "herbal antibiotic" for clearing heat and detoxifying.
Honeysuckle flower	1 tael (approx. 37.5g) original: "金銀花" (Jinyinhua); the primary herb for treating skin infections and "toxic fire."
Cassia bark	0.3 mace original: "肉桂" (Rougui); a small warming dose to ensure circulation isn't stalled by cold.
